Educational Poverty Alleviation Sub-project of Poor Rural Community Development Project

The project was funded by the World Bank and the UK government. The main targets were to improve the production and living conditions of the poor, to increase income and capacity of income-generating and to enhance the abilities of self-development, organization and management of the farmer.
Our experts were assigned for the organization and implementation of the project. The project benefited 187 villages of 37 towns in six state-level poverty-stricken counties, which are the poorest areas in Yunnan province, China. The project helped 182 SMEs for entrepreneurship and development by the SME support program. The relevant activities include market survey, overall planning, investment environment improvement, available resources development, practical technology introduction, personnel training, internal management improvement, market resources development, and the establishment of a social service system, etc. As well, the project played an active role in aspects of improving literacy and stock of human resources, promoting marketization-oriented self-development and sustainable development mechanism, establishing science and education service network for communities, and exploring new approaches on sustainable development for poor rural areas. And, the success of the project provided a good demonstration of   poverty  alleviation   and   prosperity   creation in the rural areas in Yunnan province and its surrounding areas.
